Covered Employment is the number of workers employed by employers subject to the Arkansas Employment Security Law during the pay period which includes the 12th of the month.  An employer is subject to the law when there are one or more employees employed in each of ten days during the current or preceding calendar year.

 

Covered employment in Arkansas averaged 1,111,851 during the fourth quarter of 2003, an increase of 30,001 from the previous quarter.  Its 2003 annual average of 1,095,802 was 2,756 below the average recorded one year ago.
